We all know there is a great need for family training and support. They are often the front line carers, unseen, uncared for unsupported and untrained. Thanks to all those who have encouraged, funded and supported me to provide the help and support desperately needed by those trying to cope with the chaos drug and alcohol misuse brings to families.
If you are looking for support, information or training on the issues of alcohol and drugs then please drop in!

I have been motivated for 10 years to find a way to help families with alcohol and drug problems. To provide families with somewhere to go and ways to help them through difficult times.
I have first hand experience of many of these issues and have overcome those problems through counselling, reviewing my past and coming to terms with my sons drug and alcohol misuse. Especially the struggles we had when hardly any help was available.
I have tried many avenues to help other families, gaining experience and knowledge along the way.
However none felt the absolute right idea I was looking for.
After much discussion with others, soul searching and continual training I had a break through. In December 2006 I woke in the middle of the night and knew I had finally found the answer I had been looking for – Training.
Of all the approaches I have worked with, training helped me the most. It has given me confidence, understanding and education on many levels and developed in me the courage to strive for help for other families.
Training Up Mums to understand the causes and effects of drugs and alcohol, the cycles of recovery and effects it has on families and communities. To then enable those Trained Up Mums to be able to inform, train and support others.
To liaise with various national and regional groups and agencies to provide initial training for groups of mums to give them the confidence and courage to be able to access agencies for further training.
If you are feeling alone, frightened, isolated or overwhelmed by someone you care about’s drug or alcohol misuse then TUMs can help you in many ways. You may need someone to talk to or you may benefit from talking to other Mums. Perhaps some training may help you understand or you may want support with attending one to one meetings.
TUMS are here for you, waiting to support you.
